About Dayton
Dayton was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu. In 1998 he had his first slack key guitar lesson with Bobby Moderow Jr. (from the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award–winning group Maunalua). As soon as Dayton started learning slack key, it became his passion. Dayton also learned various types of music from other professional musicians, books, and the internet. He now plays and sings a huge variety of music, everything from slack key/traditional Hawaiian, to John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Bobby Caldwell, Michael Jackson, & Bob Marley to name a few. Since 2000 he has been playing music at weddings and private events. Read his five-star reviews on the Reviews page and TheKnot.com. You can currently find him playing around town in the live music scene, enjoying every minute of it.
